Adocumentarythatspeaksabouthowwomenexperience,endure,andlivewiththeirbodies.Adiversegroupofwomentalkabouttheirdifferentialexperiencewiththefemalebodyastheyspiralthroughchildhood,puberty,pregnancy,childbirth,illness,andaging.Thefilmtakestheseprivatesecretsabouttaboos,pain,andemotionsthesefemaleindividualshaveabouttheirbody–whichbecomepersonalandsecretwhenthesebodilyexperiencesarenotsharedanddiscussedopenlyinsociety–andputsthemonthesocialagenda.Thegenderrolesandsystematicstandardsforcedonwomen’sbodiesoftenresultinwomenhatingandbeingashamedoftheirownbodiesordesiringnon-femalebodies.Thereareemotionsevokedduetothewomen’sinternalizedoutsiderviewontheirphysicalappearance,aswellasemotionsassociatedwiththewomen’sbodyastheinnatefemaleexperienceofthebodyarestigmatized.Inspiteofthesenegativeemotionsandassociationswiththeirbodies,thesewomentalkaboutthetimetheyalsofeltasenseofwonderandbeautythroughtheirbodiesduringtheirinterview.
